Hunting Pigeons in Large Numbers

Two young gentlemen of this city, [n.l.] pill dispensers, went hunting for pigeons last week, and succeeded in bringing down a single one, which to their great amazement was "hooded and blind." Here was a case which staggered the medical gentlemen, and after half an hour's consultation, it was concluded that the poor bird had been suffering from a severe case of cataract; but the bird was a conundrum. The pigeon had been used as a "stool," in which it is necessary to sew up the eyes of the bird, and the boots were for the purpose of fastening it to the stool. The bird had probably escaped from some pigeon catcher.
